MOME
MOME (Cluster of European Projects aimed at Monitoring and Measurement) is a coordination action in the Information Society Technologies (IST) Programme of the European Union that offers a platform for knowledge and tool exchange, and for coordinating activities in the field of IP monitoring and measurement between IST projects and other European partners. The platform will provide information on tested interoperability of monitoring and measurement tools of different projects. It will then build a database containing tools information and measurement data in a common format. For more information, please visit the MOME website at:
Latest news from the MOME project: MOME has updated and extended the deliverable D23 - Report on Integrated Test Scenarios, the final version is available on-line: http://www.ist-mome.org/deliverables/mome-wp2-0510-d23-scenarios-v2.pdf Also the OWAMP testing event results are published: http://www.ist-mome.org/events/interop/owamp.html
Earlier news items:
The MOME project has prepared the OWAMP Testing event! It will run from 15 - 22 November 2005. The MOME project has organised two interesting events during the summer: Interoperability testing event and Standardisation event. The press release about the Interoperability testing event is available on-line: http://www.ist-mome.org/events/interop/MOMEinteropPressRelease.pdf The results of these events are also available as deliverables: D13 - MOME Interoperability Testing Event: http://www.ist-mome.org/deliverables/MOME-D13_Interop-Event.pdf
D32 - MOME Standardisation Event: http://www.ist-mome.org/deliverables/mome-wp3-0508-d32_standardisation_event.pdf The Call for Papers for the next MOME workshop - IPS-MOME 2006 is still open: http://www.ips2006.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2&Itemid=4

We want to inform you that the panel organized by the MOME-project on the future of network monitoring is going to be streamed from the TERENA Networking conference 2005, The panel is going to take place in the Room E at You can get the stream from: http://www.terena.nl/conferences/tnc2005/index.html Panel description: "Researchers Openness, Operators Secrets and Legal Framework: How monitoring evolves in Future Networks? The MOME project is organising a panel discussion about the future of network monitoring. Each participant will make a short presentation about his viewpoint and then the discussion will follow." Participants: Gianluca Iannaccone (Intel Corporation) Stuart Parham (Cisco Systems) Nicolas Simar (DANTE) Jiri Novotny ( Andrew Cormack (UKERNA) The MOME project invites you to participate to the Monitoring and Measurement Interoperability Testing event. Event Location and Date: The event will be co-located with the 63rd IETF meeting at Le Palais des Congrès De Paris (2, Place de la Porte Maillot, 75017 The event will take place from July the 28th to from Event Scope: Monitoring and measurements of Internet traffic often involve not just a single application, but a combination of different tools that process measured information at different levels. In order to exchange information between these tools, common information models, data models, file formats, and protocols are required. The interoperability of measurement and monitoring tools depends largely on the level of standardisation and its accurate implementation within tools and libraries from different vendors. This event focuses on the Monitoring and Measurement related tools and similar technologies. If you have done or are doing an implementation of one of the protocols below (or a related one in the MOME area) and would like to test it, then the Interop event organised by MOME is your chance to test it back to back with other companies who did the same. The detailed event description and programme can be found at: http://www.ist-mome.org/events/interop/ Targeted Protocols are: * IPFIX * OWAMP * PSAMP * NSIS * NETFLOW(v9) * NETCONF If you need to test other protocols or features, or like to provide tests, please contact us at: interop@ist-mome.org The event is free but due to seats limitation we recommend you to register. The registration form can be found at: http://www.terena.nl/events/?eventID=152 Looking forward to see you in Paris. ************************************
